As soon as I walked in, I knew it was the right one.
I don't know what convinced me, but I could not ignore that sensation.
It had only happened once before.
I was comfortable from the moment I opened the door.
The others I knew would be a temporary accommodation, places to spend a few months.
But I would leave. Whether for the lack of sunlight or a balcony, or the feel of the neighbourhood.
They were just places to sleep.
This was different. It was mine. I liked the smell. The view from the tiny oval window.
I was home.
