Back then

-Everything was different.
-What do you mean?
-The important things. The priorities. Now everything is confusing.
-I don't think much has changed.
The old man sighed looking at the city.
-In the morning I opened the shop, I swept with the shutters half closed, had a coffee at the bar across the street. I chatted with the barman, smoked a cigarette.
I remained silent.
-The customers would say hello. They respected the work I did, knowing they could trust me.
-And now?
-Now I lost my job. Everything goes too fast. There is no time for sweeping the shop or having a coffee at the bar.
